The Amulree & Strathbran Windfarm Action Group has joined with the community council to set up an online resource to promote road safety and mitigate disruption during the implementation of the Traffic Management Plan for the construction of SSER’s Griffin Windfarm.
To improve and assure road safety, members of the public are encouraged accurately to note and to report incidents, accidents, near misses and extraordinary delays on http://www.aswag.org.uk/griffintransport.html during the accomplishment of the Police-escorted abnormal load turbine component traffic movements.
This joint Community Council resource was set up to promote road safety and mitigate disruption within the implementation of the Traffic Management Plan for the construction of SSER’s Griffin Windfarm.

Crane vehicle reversing incident
One recent online entry concerned an HGV crane vehicle which was observed on Saturday 26/03/11, 5.35pm, to reverse round a blind bend and along a further 150m back to another bend and onto private property in order to allow two empty turbine transporters to pass (pictured during the incident).
The HGV deliberately reversed onto and damaged private property beyond the 0.5 metre “verge”. This manoeuvre left tracks showing that the minimum passing width required was 7.6m wider than the vast majority of its route.
