After a spell in the doldrums, the former Farm Fresh premises on Dunkeld Street in Aberfeldy, have just thrown open their doors once more.
SallyMurrayWebSally Murray (pictured), who used to run the Lurgan Farm shop just outside the town, has taken on the business and explained:  “I was spurred on as the town really needs somewhere like this.”
The shop stocks a wide selection of fresh fruit and veg, ranging from proper carrots with mud on them and large bunches of herbs, to kohl rabi, fennel and raw beetroot.  Much of the produce is from local suppliers such as eggs and chocolates and there is an entire section devoted to gluten-free items.  As well as a deli counter with cheeses, meats and dry goods, there will be a wet fish counter.
Although very early days, one local resident exclaimed: “The town’s been crying out for a place like this and, at last, I can think about entertaining again properly with all these lovely things to choose from!”
It seems that Sally has breathed a new lease of life into the retailing coices in the town.
